The Drugstore Mascara Effect

I am a huge fan of the high street mascaras, and although I really want to try out the high end stuff too I just can't bring myself to spend a ridiculous amount of money on something I can get for a 1/3 of the price. And that something is usually a brilliant long-lasting product. Plus, drugstore is quite known for selling good-quality ones. My favourite is definitely Maybelline when it comes to mascaras, I loved pretty much all of the ones I've tried so far from them. Anyways, here is my fantastic five of right now...
Maybelline Falsies used to be my go to mascara at one point, it just makes your lashes look sexy. It curls them a little, lengthens and what's one of the most important factors - it doesn't clump or leave any black marks on your eyelids while applying. However, I do have to apply at least 3 coats to get the best out of it.
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless is definitely my favourite for bottom lashes. It separates them perfectly and lasts all day without smudging. I'm not so fond of this product on my upper lashes though, the bristles of it are a bit too tiny for my liking.
Maybelline Colossal is my HG mascara, I always go back to it and always keep a spare one at the back of my drawer. It literally makes my eyelashes look bigger. It doesn't smudge or clump and lasts forever, I have it on for over 12 hours when I have long shifts at work and it looks perfectly fine all the way through. Also, you can see the difference after one coat only, and a mascara like that is quite hard to find. I am in love with this one.
L'Oreal Miss Manga is my latest addiction to my makeup bag. I've only been using it for about a week to see what it's like and let me tell you, it's pretty damn good. In the tv advert you can clearly see that the model's lashes are quite clumped, not a good look. But it completely surprised me, the bristles going from tiny to long are a great help for applying it in the inner corners of the eyes as well as bottom lashes. It might just be my replacement for the Lash Accelerator Endless. This mascara is the one to go, especially if you're looking for length.
Maybelline The Rocket is another one of my blasts from the past (well, last year but still). I mostly use it to separate any leftover clumps after finishing with applying mascara. It's the best for that.

Do you prefer high end or drugstore mascaras? What's your favourite?

XOXO

L'Oreal Color Infaillible Eyeshadows | Review

I know I am so behind with these but I finally got them and they might just be my new favourites. I have read and seen so many people rave about L'Oreal's Color Infaillible (or Infallible as it says on the packaging in other countries) that I convinced myself I needed a few just to try them out and see what the fuss is all about. I got four shades: Time Resist White, Sahara Treasure, Flashback Silver and Eternal Black, and they are all absolutely gorgeous. I was looking to get a couple more but neither Boots nor Superdrug had a good selection, which is disappointing but what can you do. Anywho, the eyeshadows come in nice, see-through pots with a powder protector to keep the product in place. They are kinda like pressed pigments, they feel creamy and powdery at the same time. They apply smoothly with fingers as well as with a brush, I personally prefer fingers first and then a brush as it gets more product on the eyelids and then blends easily. The eyeshadows last about 7-8 hours before they start to fade a little, so it's still fine - the colour payoff is amazing. I normally put them on before going to work and when I get home they still look fine. They are very pigmented and don't crease like so many other eyeshadows do. I tried them on with and without a primer and it lasts, and looks better with primer on, while for example Maybelline's Color Tattoos look gorgeous without a primer for hours and hours (but I always tend to put primer on anyways so I don't mind). Overall, I love these and will be looking for more shades, hopefully I will find some more that I like.
Have you tried L'Oreal Color Infaillible? Do you prefer them or Maybelline Color Tattoos?

L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadows

I got those eyeshadows a while ago but only recently started using them, great to wear during the day. I quite  like the beige/brown shades so turns out it was a good buy for me. I now wish I started using them the day I got them. They are really pigmented, so the colour lasts for hours without fading or creasing. They've got a little shimmer to them but it's not overpowering, just the right amount. The product applies very smoothly and blends easily. They need a primer to hold the colour, but I don't mind that cause I always use a primer anyway. They are better to apply with fingers, I noticed that the brush doesn't get enough product and the fallout is quite big. There are pros and cons to this product but overall I like it, don't think I will get more shades though because there's so many other eyeshadows I want to try. It could cost a little less too.
L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadows: £7.99

L'Oreal Color Riche Confetti Top Coat

While I've been looking through blogs a couple of days ago I spotted L'Oreal's confetti top coat a couple of times and fell in love with it. So I went looking for it yesterday and as it usually happens, ended up getting more than just that. Since spring is now just around the corner I decided to use Boots' offer 3 for 2 once again, this time on Barry M nail polishes and got 3 pretty pastel shades. My excuse was 'it would look great with that top coat'. And so it does.  But then again, L'Oreal's confetti looks great with pretty much anything since it's black and white, but never mind. I was so happy with the results, it looks even better once on nails than it does in the pictures. I know already I will be using it quite a lot. Plus it doesn't take ages to take off as glitters usually do. It comes off just like the usual nail polish. I can tell this little bottle of black and white glitter will be a hit and we can expect more amazing top coats to come real soon.

Eyeliner: L'Oreal Super Liner

^ From top: Super Liner in Black Crystals, Super Liner Ultra Precision in Noir/Black, Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black.

I have been through more eyeliners than I can count really, but never found one that would stay on without smudging or fading for longer than a couple of hours. I tried pencil, gel and liquid eyeliners but none of them would satisfy my needs in terms of looking good all day or night, I would have to re-apply over and over again. With some it would take a long while to get the line opaque. Then I've seen how much hype L'Oreal Super Liners were getting so I got one in Black Crystals to give it a go. I was so impressed when every time I checked my makeup in the mirror I would find the eyeliner perfectly black and in place, I went to get the other two. Ultra Precision liner is just as good, but I was a little disappointed with the Perfect Slim. It is the easiest one to apply but it does not stay on for as long and smudges after a while. In comparison, the other two eyeliners would survive the night, I feel asleep wearing Super Liner in Black Crystals a couple of times and the next morning it still looked like as if I just applied it.
The sponge tip feels really nice and soft, which I would choose any day over a brush. It also dries within seconds so I don't have to worry about accidentally closing my eyes too quick. What is more, even though it stays on for ages and ages, it comes off really easily when taking make up off. I was expecting to pay around £10, but it was £6.49 in Superdrug (not sure about Boots, but probably more less the same).
I am absolutely loving this product and would recommend to anyone looking for a good eyeliner.
