February Favorites

I usually post fashion on Fridays but since I really wanted to do my first ever monthly favourites and February ended yesterday I decided to post about that today instead. If I have enough time I will post fashion as well. Anyways, let's get to the favourites. First of all, definitely Nivea's lip butter in Caramel Cream is top of the list, I posted about it a while ago and you can find the link here: Nivea Lip Butters. I also loved (and still love) Nearly Naked foundation by Revlon - link here: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder - however, there was something about the powder that put me off after using it a little more, I think I need to try a lighter shade maybe. So I got Maybelline's Fit Me! powder and it works amazing, I have a feeling it's going to be my favourite for a long time. I've also been loving Maybelline's Color Tattoos in Pink Gold and On and On Bronze, they look brilliant as everyday makeup and don't need a primer (I posted about Color Tattoos before too: Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows). Last but not least, I got L'Oreal Color Riche Confetti topcoat on my favourites list and honestly, it's the best topcoat I've ever used (I blogged about it a couple of weeks ago when I combined it with Barry M's pastel nail polishes: L'Oreal Color Riche Confetti Topcoat). Oh, and I almost forgot, there's also Rimmel's primer which I already managed to re-purchase, unfortunately it doesn't last very long but it works wonders so I don't mind re-purchasing every 6-8 weeks (link here: Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer).

Nivea Lip Butters

My love to Nivea is well, huge. Especially to their lip care range, I posted about their lip balms before and now I thought I could talk a little about their lip butters. Some people think they are not worth the hype, but I think they indeed are - they smell amazing, they work amazing, what else do you need. My favourite is definitely Caramel Cream, I could literally just keep smelling it all day and I definitely use it most off all three. But if you're not a fan of the scent there's nothing to worry about as it doesn't transfer to your lips. I also like the packaging, a small tin is a nice change from tubed lip products. They are very creamy, but after a while I forget I even have anything on my lips while leaving a healthy feeling without any dryness. It doesn't matter how chapped my mouth is, I only need a tiny amount of the product to smooth it and soften the flakes from peeling. They can also be used as a base for lipsticks.

I've been using it for a while now and will definitely keep using it for a long time (unless I find something better real soon, which I doubt will happen).

Lip Butters: Revlon vs Nivea

I was looking for a good lip butter for a while and I've seen people talking about Revlon Lip Butters a lot. Everyone seems to love them so I thought I would give it a go. I got it in Sugar Frosting first since it's a nice, light colour. The first time I used it I wasn't impressed at all, or maybe I just have weird lips I don't know. I thought first impressions are not always best so I used it a couple more times but it still didn't seem to be moisturising enough. My lips felt dry and it was just uncomfortable. But since the hype about the product was so big I decided to try a different shade, so I got it in Creme Brulee. It was slightly better, but still not satisfying and my lips dries out in five minutes. I have to say I wasn't impressed with Revlon Lip Butters.

Then I spotted Nivea's Lip Butters while in Superdrug and I have a strange habit of smelling makeup products like lipsticks or lip balms. And oh my days, they smelt so amazing I grabbed both - Caramel Cream and Raspberry Rose. Actually, Caramel Cream is the best lip product I ever smelt, ever. They feel amazing on the lips as well, stay on for ages and my lips were moisturised nicely for a long time. I hope they will release a few more 'shades/scents' in the future. The way products smell is quite important for me, I wouldn't put anything plasticky-smelling anywhere near my face.

The packaging is slightly different, Revlon's Lip Butters are in a lipstick tube so it does look better. Unfortunately the product smudges around the edges of the lipstick tube like crazy and it just doesn't look great after a few uses. Nivea might be in a small pot and has to be used with fingers but the product is so much better. I would choose Nivea Lip Butter over Revlon's ones any day and I highly recommend it. The price difference is massive as well, Nivea Lip Butters were only £1.24 (Superdrug) comparing to £7.99 for Revlon ones.
