Rimmel Lycra Pro and Rock Your Colour

Since spring is just around the corner and winter is finally coming to an end I thought I'd post my favourite nail polishes I used for the past few months. And as much as I love them, I cannot wait to go into pastels again. Anyway, when I decided to write this post and chose the polishes I noticed they were all Rimmel, yes they are on top of their game lately. The ones I chose are Urban Purple and Beige Babe plus a topcoat of gold glitter called Disco Gold, which is an amazing autumn/winter top coat. I'm a little disappointed I had to cut my nails yesterday (one chipped really bad while at work) so they look a bit sad. Anyways, that's the results...

My favourite concealers

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer is literally the best concealer I've ever tried. My shade is Fair (1), which is the lightest one. It's nice and creamy and gives medium to full coverage, it doesn't get cakey or dry. I don't apply it straight on my face, I put it on my hand first and then either with a brush or a finger apply it on. It goes on smoothly and stays in place all day, I can't say enough good things about this. However, the packaging is not as amazing as the product, the writing comes off really easily but then again, what's inside makes up for it.
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is actually a concealer and a highlighter in one. I use this one mainly for the area under my eyes and my shade is 010 Ivory. It has a pretty natural finish, and wears nicely throughout the day without fading or getting cakey. I'm not too fond on the packaging of this product, but it works well, so I'm not going to complain. I apply it the same way as the Collection 2000 concealer - with a finger or a brush.
Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer is definitely the nicest looking one out of all three. My shade is 15. It has the same kind of applicator as the Collection 2000 one, so I use it the same way. Its consistency is quite creamy and blends into the skin really nicely, it doesn't sit in the fine lines and doesn't look cakey. It holds up well, I usually have it on for about 8-9 hours and don't have any problems with it. I mostly reach for this concealer when I can't find my Collection 2000 one, or when I run out of it.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection: £4.19
Rimmel Match Perfection: £5.99
Maybelline Fit Me!: £5.99

Essie and Barry M nail polishes

Since today is my day off from work I decided to look through my nail polishes and use a few I never got round to using. I chose two Essie and two Barry M polishes, and since I loved the L'Oreal confetti top coat,  both Barry M bottles I picked were glittery top coats. And now that I think about it, I can't believe I didn't use them before. Well, maybe because they are a real pain to take off but I didn't know that until now. These types of top coats unfortunately are quite hard to get off of nails, but I thought after L'Oreal's one (which came off like a usual nail polish) I shouldn't write anything off before I try it. Barry M top coats took way too much time to get off my nails, but they looked so pretty I won't complain any longer. Anyway, the first combination is Essie Vanity Fairest and Barry M Amethyst Glitter, the second is Essie No Place Like Chrome and Barry M Pink Sapphire Glitter.
Essie: £7.99 (each)
Barry M: £2.99 (each)

Sleek iDivine Original Palette

I've been meaning to post about this palette for a while now, I got it and took pictures of it quite a while ago now. But only recently got round to using it and now I get what all the fuss is about. The eyeshadows are soft and loosely pressed, and have amazing pigmentation. Just one swipe with a finger leaves a nice, bright swatch. They blend easily and stay on for hours without creasing or fading (especially with a primer on as well). The shades are extremely shimmery though (except for black matte eyeshadow) so they have a better use for a night out rather than a day look. It's also very handy to put in a handbag, and it has a mirror on the inside so if I'm in a rush it's quite easy to use them on a bus or tube. I also love the simple black packaging, looks really professional. However, I heard people complaining about the fall-out while ordering the palette online. I didn't have that issue since it's available in most Superdrug stores close to me.
Sleek iDivine Original Palette: £7.99

Stylish Friday: Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis is known for her amazing, big eyes everyone is lusting over and being ugly Meg's from Family Guy voice-over. She's had a great past few years, she co-starred with Natalie Portman in a hit film Black Swan, Justin Timberlake in Friends With Benefits and was the female lead in one of the funniest films of 2012, Ted. She is now promoting her latest work - Oz the Great and Powerful. In 2012 Dior signed her to be the face of company's Spring fashion campaign, which I actually was waiting so long for to appear in my favourite magazines. Now she is constantly being rated one of the sexiest women in the world and is dating Ashton Kutcher, overall: she's done well in life. But that's not everything, Mila Kunis has got great sense of style. The dresses she wears on the red carpet are to die for, my definite favourite is the lilac gown she wore to the Oscars designed by Elie Saab. Anyway, I'll stop at this and share some of her looks I like most.

Nivea Lip Butters

My love to Nivea is well, huge. Especially to their lip care range, I posted about their lip balms before and now I thought I could talk a little about their lip butters. Some people think they are not worth the hype, but I think they indeed are - they smell amazing, they work amazing, what else do you need. My favourite is definitely Caramel Cream, I could literally just keep smelling it all day and I definitely use it most off all three. But if you're not a fan of the scent there's nothing to worry about as it doesn't transfer to your lips. I also like the packaging, a small tin is a nice change from tubed lip products. They are very creamy, but after a while I forget I even have anything on my lips while leaving a healthy feeling without any dryness. It doesn't matter how chapped my mouth is, I only need a tiny amount of the product to smooth it and soften the flakes from peeling. They can also be used as a base for lipsticks.
I've been using it for a while now and will definitely keep using it for a long time (unless I find something better real soon, which I doubt will happen).
Nivea Lip Butters: £1.49 each

L'Oreal Color Riche Confetti Top Coat

While I've been looking through blogs a couple of days ago I spotted L'Oreal's confetti top coat a couple of times and fell in love with it. So I went looking for it yesterday and as it usually happens, ended up getting more than just that. Since spring is now just around the corner I decided to use Boots' offer 3 for 2 once again, this time on Barry M nail polishes and got 3 pretty pastel shades. My excuse was 'it would look great with that top coat'. And so it does.  But then again, L'Oreal's confetti looks great with pretty much anything since it's black and white, but never mind. I was so happy with the results, it looks even better once on nails than it does in the pictures. I know already I will be using it quite a lot. Plus it doesn't take ages to take off as glitters usually do. It comes off just like the usual nail polish. I can tell this little bottle of black and white glitter will be a hit and we can expect more amazing top coats to come real soon.
L'Oreal Color Riche Confetti Top Coat: £4.99
Barry M nail polish: £2.99 (each)

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder

I have been wanting Nearly Naked to come out for ages and ages now and on Tuesday when I picked up Look magazine I noticed the foundation in the makeup section, my eyes literally went crazy big. I couldn't find it in Brent Cross Boots though, so I thought it wouldn't be out for a while because I usually find every single thing I'm looking for in there. After work my boyfriend offered to get me a Valentine's present and took me to our local Boots, and they had it! I couldn't believe it because they never update the stock there, but never mind that. That was the best Valentine's gift ever.
So, now on to the review. The foundation is in my opinion amazing, it blends in really well and covers up redness while leaving the feeling as if there's nothing on my face. It's buildable with light to medium coverage, it leaves my face feeling fresh and looking natural. It doesn't feel oily or looks shiny, or cakey. The 10 hours I had it on the foundation looked great, it didn't separate throughout the day. It feels very light, kinda like there's nothing on my face. The only downside of this product for me is that it doesn't have a pump, but I wanted it so bad that I don't really care at this point.
I am as impressed with the pressed powder as I am with the foundation. It feels smooth and silky, doesn't leave dry patches like some other powders used to do for me. It blends right in and there's no powdery feeling left. I am very happy about both products and look forward to using them on daily basis. Revlon is definitely my #1 favourite at the moment.

Rimmel Cocktail Colour in a Flash nail polishes

^From left: 110 Baby Bellini, 140 Hawaiian Punch and 120 Shirley Temple

Looks like Rimmel are on top of their game lately, I wanted to get Cocktail Colour nail polishes for a while and finally got round to it this week. Thank you Boots for your 3 for 2 offer (£3.99 each). I am so impressed with them so far, the colours are so pretty and one coat gives just enough to cover the nails with achieving the colour you can see in the bottle. It dries really quick as well, the label says it takes 60 seconds and it is more less that. I like that they are glittery/sparkly but it doesn't take a lot of effort to get them off. Thanks to its multi-tonal shimmer Cocktail Colours have that on trend duo-chrome look (especially the baby Bellini one). My favourite is definitely Hawaiian Punch, I always wanted to add a red-ish nail polish like that one to my collection. I think 2013 might as well be Rimmel's year if they keep up their great work.

Stylish Friday: Kate Middleton

This post is only a tiny part of Kate's amazing wardrobe, I've even seen entire blogs devoted to her style. You can even find out where she gets her clothes or find affordable High Street alternatives. And no wonder, her style is flawless. We all know it and love it. There's not much left to say for me since all the information is updated on blogs or in magazines on daily basis so I will get right on to posting a few of my favourites of hers (blue dress is #1 for me). Enjoy.
